My connection to the web keeps disconnecting so I just lost my post.

So to be very quick yes you need to get into parish registers but we need to try and find which onees you are looking at so please post the census entries for John for 1841, 1851 and 1861.

meanwhile try www.lan-opc.org.uk and www.familysearch.org

PS Managed to get this on please excuse typing and rather abbreviated post

There is a list produced by Sefton Libraries, giving details of where many of the Parish Registers are held, you should find this useful
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.anc ... seflib.htm

You should also check for any Wills, we have put together some advice on where to search and how to order here http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=7142
