Hi guys

need a bit of help

I have a baptism certificate for a MARGARET ANN WILKINSON BORN 4TH APRIL 1876 at St Anthony's father John Wilkinson mother Mary Nee MERRICK.
Godmother Elizabeth Cummins..no address no occupation for dad.

Margaret Ann Wilkinson married Thomas White at St Mary's Kirkdale in 1894 aged 19 father John Wilkinson deceased no occupation written down, witnesed by William Cummings & Lucy Ann Cummings.
Address 3 Bradewell St Kirkdale for both bride & Groom.

I am ok with Thomas Whites family...

since digging around i have found William & Lucy Ann Cummings brother & sister children of a Samuel Cummings & Elizabeth MERRIN who were married in St Mary's Kirkdale in 1875.
So Elizabeth is the Godmother of Margaret Ann Wilkinson.

I thourght that MERRIN & MERRICK may have been spelt wrong and that Elizabeth and Mary were sisters.. but checking the baptism record its deffo Merrick and the marriage is on free BMD as Merrick, also Elizabeth's marriage is on both Lancs BMD & Free BMD as MERRIN.

I cannot find a John Wilkinson with a Mary and daughter Margaret in 1871.

In 1901 Thomas White & Margaret A live at 49 Barlow St Kirkdale, i have however found

1881 4 Springfield Square Kirkdale

John Wilkinson age 39 Labourer b Eccleston Lancs
Margaret Wilkinson 30 b Lpool
Dau Margaret A age 11 b Lpool
Niece Margaret and 5 b Lpool

1891 6 Makin St
Margaret Wilkinson age 40 widow b Lpool
Visitor Margaret A age 15 b Lpool

shes the closest i can find in the right area...what i can't get my head round is Margaret being called Niece to this John, as he already has a daughter Margaret A born 1870 unless this is a second marriage, to Margaret who has a daughter already called Margaret A...

Can anyone help

Hi Tina yes thats Elizabeth & Samuel Cummings in 1881.

Think Elizabeth dies 1899 cannot find her or her daughter Lucy Ann Cummings b 1877 on the 1891 yet Lucy Ann marries Robert Mutch in 1895..Elizabeth's mothers maiden name was Mutch..so i am thinking Lucy Ann has married her cousin..

Forename misheard and or misspelt?

And just wondering... Are you sure Elizabeth died pre-1891? The only death I could find was a much older woman. Then there's this:

CUMMINS, James - Single - 10 - 1881 - Liverpool.
Address: 14 Chelmsford Street, Kirkdale, Liverpool.

Hi

after researching Mary Merrick & Sister Elizabeth.. Elizabeth was actualy born in 1839.

i have now found sister Mary on the 1901 at 3 Bradwell St the address Margaret Ann her daughter put down when she married in 1894..living with Mary was her son William and her nephew Samuel Cummings.
So i know Mary is the right Mary.

Yet 1891 has her husband John Wilkinson born Cockermouth c 1840 as a widow hes living in his daughter Elizabeth Ann's house she married a Samuel Dunn, also with him is William his and Mary's son,

1881 & 1871 has John, Mary, Elizabeth A & William are together, Margaret Ann is not with them in 1881 born 1876..

Cannot find Elizabeth Cummings in 1891 i think that Lousia is Lucy as in 1901 she is called Louise and 1911 back to Lucy..

I think i am on track now
