Looking for James Cunningham, Cotton Broker, Mossley Hill Road, Liverpool, though possibly under Wavertree or Garston then.
He was in the census, but someone down under is seeking the name of his house.
Many thanks

Just for the record, my contact was not in Aus after all, but in Canada. The house we were looking for is now part of Liverpool College, near Queen's Drive [which did not exist in the 1880s!].
Thanks again

Hi 1901
His house is called Colomendy in Blundellsands...
I'm sure you have him in census.

Thanks as ever. I had not got as far as James in 1901, but his daughter Olivia, born 1861, was also in Blundellsands in that census - unmarried, at 17 Harlech Road, 'on private means'. Finding her used the last of my 1901 credits!
James's son Herbert went off to Canada [untraced journey so far - any offers?] and Herbert's wife Jessie arrived in Quebec in 1883 [passenger list traced]. A descendant is asking elsewhere about these Liverpool links.

Thanks, Tina.
I was told that Herbert's arrival in Canada was estimated, and his wife was thought to have gone to join him.
This means that either he went later than her, or he had come back and was around in Blundellsands when the 1891 census was taken.
