I am trying to trace the ancestors of the above couple. This is my first post here's hoping there's someone to help point me in the right direction.
John Jackson's later heirs/family eventually became a famous clog dancing act and later formed a Music Hall Act called the "Eight Lancashire Lads". They gave Charlie Chaplin a job around 1898 - 1901 and they're all shown on the Lambeth 1901 Census.
Back to above John & Ellen's marriage. This is the furthest I've managed to accurately trace back to. Previous to that I'm finding loads of Jacksons which may/may not be mine! They married at the Parish Church of Winwick on 24th June 1844. Witnesses: William Carr & Thomas Warburton. His father's name looks like ? Nathan? Jackson - Weaver.
Ellen's father's name is Thomas Warburton - Weaver, both of Golborne. Very recently I received some "word-of-mouth" info that her family or ancestors were a wealthy farming family with a "1000 head of cattle", AND that the town of Burtonwood was named after him! Any help will oblige, thanks
John Jackson & Ellen Burton of Golborne 1844
