Edwin Herbert Evans

Post by BrianR »

I am trying to trace what happened to Edwin Herbert Evans who was born on 30th June 1883 in Toxteth Park, Liverpool and married Lily Agnes Blows on 30th June 1909. I believe he died in 1960 on the Wirral but I am unsure what happened to him and his wife after the 1911 census (when they lived at 24 Thorneycroft Road, Liverpool). I believe that they had two sons (Eric Evans, born in 1911 and Dennis E Evans, born on 26th May 1921) but I do not know what happened to them either.

We have put together a few suggestions about searching for a living relative here http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=8154

It's usually best to post details in a newspaper or other local forum when looking for current times rather than a genealogy forum.

Thanks for the information on Edwin Herbert Evans and his sons.
Yes, you are right. Edwin Herbert Evans and Robert Percy Evans were brothers and they marrried Lily Agnes Blows and Louisa Annie Maud Blows, who were sisters. Edwin and Robert had a sister (Maud Evans, born in Toxteth Park in December 1899) and there were four (possibly five) Blows sisters: the other two known Blows sisters were Nellie Mary Blows (who married William Brown in Llanberis on 5th August 1910) and Clara Elizabeth Blows (who married John Robert Lewin in Lonan on the Isle of Man on 5th August 1899). These are the lines I am following.

Yes, Tina, you are correct. The eldest Blows daughter was married (at 16) and living in the Isle of Man in 1901 and the other daughters (Lily, Nellie and Maud) we living with other families as servants/lodgers in 1901. Their mother died in 1900 and their father inmmediately re-married but did not keep his daughters with him!
