Liverpool Record Office RESULTS

Post by MaryA »

All being well I will be visiting the Record Office on either Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll try to do any look up requests, please list them on here. As much information as possible please as usual, ie narrow the search down to the quarter by cross referencing with the indexes.

Hello Mary
Thank you for the kind offer.
I would be grateful if you could look for the marriage of these two:
Henry Peers to Gennetta Heath in the Jul-Sept quarter of 1862 at Toxteth Park, St James. I'm interested in all the usual suspects but particularly if the bride is recorded as Gennetta. She is listed on two different censuses as Gaiana and Georgina. I can't find any trace of her before her marriage.
Many thanks, it's most appreciated.

Hi Mary

I don't know if you can do this one or not. It's a registry office or registrar attended one. I think it should be an RC marriage. The family's church was St Augustine RC, Great Howard Street. The marriage was registered as follows:-

Dennis McMullen
Mary Ann Holland
Liverpool
Oct/Nov/Dec
1903

Thanks,

Hi Mary,

Could you, if you have the time do a look-up for me please, the details are..

Elizabeth Hines married William Bennett, March 1912,in St Jude ,Edge Hill, GRO index 8B 363,it is the father,s name I am after, and am hoping it is either John Beatham who is her birth father, or Frederick Hines who her mother is living with at least in 1901,(she seems to have been quite a girl ).
Elizabeth was born 1890 to John and Ellen Beatham in New Hampton,Middlesex, and apart from the 1891 census which has them in Glassonby, and the 1901 census what has Mum and Elizabeth in Manchester living with Frederick Hines transcribed as Henes, there is no trace of either of them after.
Father, John was born to a George Hardisty in 1867 and when George died, John,s mother married again to Matthew Beatham in 1880,and then John joined the 12th Lancers in 1886,and this weekend thanks to F M P Chelsea Pensioners list, I found John in 1896,being discharged from the Army on medical grounds and he was going under the name of Beatham and again no trace after although his mother was living with his sister at 82,Easby Road ,Kirkdale,at least in 1911

Many thanks for all your time.

Hi Mary

If you have time could you look for the following

St Marys Wavertree - 15.1.1880 - James Bryan Lenton to Emma Sims.
Parents names and occupations of all if possible and witnesses. 283 WAV

I stupidly looked at St Michaels Wavertree where I found his son John.

Don't worry if you don't have time as I will hopefull be able to go myself in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Mary

Could you please help by looking up the 1817 marriage between John LEIGH and Anne PRICE, in St Nicholas, Liverpool, England, for me..

I'm having a hard time believing that these People are my ancestors, i descend from their Daughter Ann Leigh.

Mary
According to www.familysearch.org the marriage of John Price to Anne Leigh took place on 25 August 1817. Thought this would make the look up easier knowing how many marriages there were in a year at St Nicks!

Twiglets
Marriages before 1837 do not give the father's names but may give an occupation for the groom which may tie the couple to the occupation given at the baptisms of their children.

I've taken a note of all requests made so far, will check this post first thing in the morning, after that any others will have to wait another opportunity.

Col - I wondered if Great Howard Street would have been within the West Derby Registration district, but it's possibly just inside the Liverpool area. I will check St Augustine and keep my fingers crossed.

Tsumi - the name Beatham is familiar to us who read our journals ;)

Eileen - I'll try my best for you, you do so much for others on this forum.

Hilary - thanks for the specific date, without it would take a long time to search.

Well I had a very successful day, not only for myself but for many of you also.

Firstly let me say that my offer appears to have very generously been advertised on the Rootsweb General Board as a "Free Look Up Offer". I would like to clarify that I am extremely generous with my time as are many of our forum members also, but not necessarily for free. I expect that those who have made requests on here to be Society Members.

I have actually got the details of ALL requests so if there are any I don't post on here, please be sure to send me a pm with your Society membership number and I'll send you the details. Please also see http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=6643

Tsumi, already dealt with
Gray and 42aitch, please send me a pm with your email addresses.

The rest of you - I'm sorry but I didn't have a printer for long enough to get photocopies, but I hope my transcriptions will be sufficient for you.

I'm sorry but the marriage wasn't in St Augustine, Great Howard Street and I didn't have time to research which other churches it might have taken place in.

Hope you have better luck next time

Thanks for checking Mary I've ordered the certificate there'll probably be more information on there than the church record.
