Marriage Look Up please - St Nicks 1860

Post by bartonaj »

Hi folks

Does anyone have access to marriage records for Our Lady & St Nicholas & Anne, Liverpool, for the 1860s and would be kind enough to peform a look up for me?

I'm looking for the marriage of my great-great-grandfather William WILCOCK to Elizabeth GORE which I know took place at St Nick's on 29 Jul 1860. More than anything I'd be interested to know who is given as William's father, but would also like to know witness details if available.

[nb. This post relates to an earlier post by Vivian regarding a Henry WILCOCK (b. probably 1800) who I presume to be the father of William.]

Many thanks

Hi Andy from across the big ditch :)
Mary will probably reply & suggest you change the title of your post to LRO lookup please etc etc. It will grab the attention of our lovely vollies who visit the centre.
However, wait for Mary's help, she's bonzer.

Good luck!

Hiya Tina!

Thanks for the heads up. There's really quite an etiquette to these fora isn't there? Will be sure to follow the guidelines and hope Mary can help.

Take care & best regards from the windy side of the Ditch

That do you? now you have to wait and see if anybody visiting the Record Office has enough time from their own researches and is good enough to check the register for you.

Thanks Mary.

I'm hopeful some kind soul will be able to help out. After all, being 26,000 miles from Liverpool makes popping in myself a bit tricky. And I make sure I do my bit by transcribing for Lancs OPC too.

Regards

Andy

Thank you so much Holly for looking that up for me - that's really kind and very much appreciated.

The information you've provided helps fill quite a big gap in my family tree knowledge & also confirms that there is indeed a link between the Wilcocks I'm researching and those which Vivian (another member on here) has been looking into.

Take care and thank again

Andy
