I had a really good day Mary. I went on Friday and it was comfortable to get around and see what I wanted to see.
I think the weekend was very crowded so I chose the quieter day

 :D

I met Peter Jones, our Editor, and he was very helpful,( needed advice for burial sites  )

I went to the Ancestry stand where they were offering 20 minute sessions to scan/photograph your documents and put them on a memory stick. I took along my gt uncles letters that he had sent to my Nan during WW1. They are very fragile and I was worried about scanning them myself. They photographed them and I'm very pleased with the result.
I then bought some acid proof pockets for them and my photograhs, before they come to any harm

I also had a tutorial for Family Historian 4 ( I have version 3 already) and bought the upgrade. It's a brilliant programme, so I was pleased with that too.
I didn't sign up for any of the lectures, but was able to hover outside and watch and listen to the Scotlandspeople talk.

There was a lot there that interested me and I did go and visit all the Family History Societies that were relevant to my ancestors.

All in all it was a very successful day and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wouldn't necessarily go every year but the people there are very friendly and helpful and getting tips and advice is useful, so I would recommend it to others for next year. :D

Cheers

Glad you enjoyed your day and thanks for giving us the low-down. Everybody seems to have been very helpful, it must have been a successful day all round.
