Ive spotted the post about joining your society and after the fab welcome will be doing so in the next half hour!
Ive got a weeks holiday soon and can see myself in the library /records office. I think its time to get a bit more serious.

PS If you head to the Record Office (4th floor William Brown Street Library) Tuesday afternoon is a good time to go in case you need any assistance as the Society hosts a Help Desk there.

I think I have found out who Nicholson might have been in the partnership of Nicholson and Ayre.

There is a John Nicholson born 1820/21 Cumberland with wife Susannah at 177 Wellington Road in the 1871 and 1881 census.

Ref for 1881 RG11 3642 82 page 9
