Irish Family research

Post by dickiesam »

Hi,
Just found out that the Irish Government appear to have taken a lead in putting Church Records online. So far only those for Counties Kerry and Dublin are up and can be found here:
http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/index.html

As the accompanying blurb on the site says... You can view over 1.3 million church records free of charge

Anyone interested in Irish records keep an eye on this website. Especially anyone interested in County Cork as those records and further records from Dublin City should be added later this year:-

It would seem that many land certificates in Ireland will be destroyed due to shortage of storage space. The entire register has been digitised and by the end of this year all details about property and its registered owners, maps and indexes should be available online at a new site.
