Newspaper Look Up- Obituary

Post by Caroline »

Hi there

If anybody has a few minutes to spare whilst in the LRO, would they be possibly be able to have a look for an obituary ?

The name is Hercules James Champion.
He died on 20th January 1942.
His widow was Catherine Jane Champion, and they resided at Percy St, Bootle.

I would be so grateful if someone could have a look.

If nobody has the time, I completely understand.

This might be in the Bootle Times as they lived in Bootle. Does the death certificate say where the inquest took place?

Hi there

I haven't actually obtained the death certificate as yet.
I am trying to find out where he is buried.

This might sound a bit daft but how do you know when he died if you don't have a death certificate and don't know where he was buried. What religion was he as this might a difference to where he was buried. Is this the man who married in Toxteth Park? If so have you tried Toxteth Park cemetery as he may have links to that area

Hi
I probably should have said, sorry!
I have looked up his will in the probate books in the LRO and also have found his death online at Ancestry ( I think).
It is definitely the right man, and you're right, I should try Toxteth Park.
I have tried Thornton records, and they have informed me he is not in that area or Bootle.

Do you know who looks after Toxteth Park records?

Thanks for your help
