Hello
Education.Lil.Jan.Ed MaryA.Susan Dagger seems the Army record I have of Edward Thomas 16846 Kings Liverpool is NOT the same Edward Walter Thomas 16846 Kings Liverpool 18th Bn Killed 11 Feb 1916 aged 22. of Bootle Liverpool son of Edward and Mary Ann Thomas in the on line CWGC record!!! Although the Army Record of Edward Thomas has the same date.same age same name (Except for middle name of Walter) same regiment same army number and same burial Corbie France, Jan44 checked the scratched out Yew Tree rd and found it to be William Thomas Head she went further back to confirm in the census they had a son named Edward ..so I have to start over again so far no Edward has turned up to match the CWGC Edward Walter Thomas.!
The brothers William (Henry) Thomas born abt 1889 and Edward (Walter) Thomas born abt 1885 both in Bootle Liverpool .parent in 1914 would be Mary Ann Thomas Widow or their sister Edith Lillian Thomas..any one out there can help??
Electoral Rolls
Do we actually understand what is meant by the
From the documents I can see, the Edward Thomas who named William H Thomas as being his next of kin has the number 16846 and died on 11 February, 1916. His address was Barndale Road.
He was living in Barndale Road in 1911, so was William H and also Mary Ann, together with a number of others.
because I certainly don't.scratched out Yew Tree Road

The Army record showed the next of kin was William H Thomas (father) 81a Barndale rd.Liverpool This address was written next to Yew Tree Rd which had a line through it indicating to ignore it and read the Barndale instead.
Jan44 looked up the Yew Tree rd address and sure enough it was a William H Thomas head of household. she went to the census and found this family did have a son named Edward proving this family was/is NOT mine!! I am sure the Army record is not wrong so that leaves the CWCG with the wrong Army number!! and if the number is wrong could the killed in action be wrong and where buried is wrong !!
In the CWGC record the following is mentioned
The same regiment is correct.
The name of Edward Walter Thomas is correct..
The birth age of abt 1894 +/- is correct.
The place of birth is correct
The Parents are correct
So I am back to square one showing in CWGC Edward Walter Thomas as earlier mentioned posts. I hope I have explained my new problem
Thanks

No, your logic doesn't make sense.
Ignore Yew Tree Road, however it got written on the papers.
Barndale Road is there as the family is in 1911. Straightforward

William & Edward Thomas
I am afraid I lost a message from someone who gave me a name to contact who might look in the Liverpool electoral rolls for the years 1913-14 also 1918-1917 to see who was living at 81a Barndale rd ..may ask again please
after a few people reading my frustration at the army records address I was informed that 1918-1923 the street directory recorded Annie Thomas as head of house hold My passenger records show Mary Annie Thomas and daughter Edith Lillian THomas heading for Australia!! before heading to Canada in 1925 immigration shows address as Mossley Hill Liverpool after visiting her two 1st mariage sons..this suggest as to why 1925 has a different family at 81a Barndale rd.so I am keeping my options open as I might have the correct Edward Thomas Army records after all as I was also told when the burnt records were put together a lot of mistakes and documents put in wrong army records..Bottom line is IF the electoral rolls for 1912-1914 have Edward and William living there ..then all I have to do is look for William kia
thanks
