Been there, done that, I'll lend you my t-shirt! Fresh eyes have found a lot but not her, the little brat, at 5 years old she shouldn't have let go of her mum's hand!

can't get my head around that Edward Evans b Abergele. M.Ann is not with him in 1861.. There is a baptism on CPR 1844 Neston for a Mary Ann Evans to Edward and Elizabeth, but it says he is a Collier.
was wondering if he could be a brother of Jane's if Jane's mum and dad went to Abergele for some reason and had him there
prob all coincidence
fancy just putting M.Ann, why not put the name
is it because Margaret was too long to write
or is she really Mary
Later- must be Mary Anne as her name, as baptism of Edward's son William says Blacksmith but Additional note says Ness Colliery. so must be why down as Collier at daughter's baptism
Ah well rules her out then

Simone you are off on a run again!!!
The thing that gets me about all these families is that there are no LEGITIMATE fathers around.
ie Margaret Kent was mother to the children but sister to male Kent - where's the father of the children ?.....
Sarah Evans has a clutch of kids and no dad in sight ....

Hi Mary & Simone
I am starting to wonder if fathers name has been put down wrong...Thomas R Lunts dad was called Thomas.. what if vicar makes a mistake and puts Thomas down for Margaret too, he may have had a busy day..we all make mistakes.. my Great Grandads Brother Edward Joseph Pratt had Edward has his father on his marriage it should be Edwin..
Hubbys Great Great Grandad has fathers name right but his occ should be a Baker.. hes got a Painter written on his marriage cert.
Might be worth checking out different forenames..

I agree with either that or that she made up her dad's name altogether!
Trouble is online there isn't a birth or baptism that I could fit to her no matter who the father is, although I'm aware that there are many other areas in Cheshire whose baptisms aren't available to me unless I go and visit them.
If her mother had an illegitimate child she may have had her baptised in a different parish to save face - I'm quoting our Ed Off's words here, although it's in my mind also.

yep good point Col
i am also wondering if Margaret may have got birth date slightly wrong and perhaps Thomas who died in 1843 is her dad, or maybe if Jane is her mum she may have fould herself pregnant to someone, and then married William Hosker and just told Margaret that her dad was Thomas and he died just before she was born. After all would Margaret really know the facts, would she bother to check
It's all very coincidental isn't it that her name is Kent, she is adamant about Neston and these Kents are in Neston, Jane who has been married to Thomas as well
aarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh
why isn't Thomas' occupation on his marriage!!!!

Told you before - there aren't any men in marriages in Neston, there are only mothers with their children !!!
Do you think it's just one man going round impregnating all these women in turn? He's obviously having great fun

Hiya
Its a real mystery this one.. what about national Burial Index or Buried in Cheshire ..if they died as babes there would burial records.. if they married in Neston there would be marriage records..so if they lived which is looking more likely they must have married out of the parish..
None of the other siblings are candidates as they are all accounted for.
Wondering why Margaret Ann called her son William..
why not Thomas after his dad and him..

I wondered whether it was in memory of Thomas's older brother who must have died as a child ....colette wrote: Wondering why Margaret Ann called her son William..why not Thomas after his dad and him..
Now I've never taken a great deal of interest in the NBI, mainly since there was a lack of Lancashire burials in it, does anybody who what coverage of Cheshire there is?

Sorry getting lost in the thread
Do we know who John Kent is, baptised 18/01/1853, son of Margaret, residence Hinderton
no father named
Is he son of Margaret, sister to John in 1851, who already has all those kids
What's going on, just who is fathering all the kids in Neston
