Liverpool Record Office Look Up Request Please

Post by MaryA »

I know this is being very cheeky after just having one successful look up, but I've just got an unexpected lead and the marriage details would confirm it. No rush but if anybody is going and has the time to spare, I will be very grateful.

Marriage of John Edgar to Emily Birchall April, May or June, 1912 at St Ambrose, Everton.

Thank you very much.

Mary

I'm also going to be a bit cheeky. I'm now trying to find the marriage of my great grandfather George Jones. I looked up a couple of marriages myself today but neither are right so I'd be really grateful if anyone with any time could spare could lookat any of these

George Jones to Mary Brennan Liverpool St Alban C of E 1854 ref from lancsbmd is 2017LP/1/115 this was in the DEc Q vol 8b page1 so I guess it was at the beginning of the quarter

George Jones to Mary Derbyshire at St Nicholas on 8 January 1854 ref from lancsbmd is 2053LP/29/122

George Jones to Mary Whitehead at St Nicholas 10 October 1854 ref fromlamcsbmd is 2053LP/30/260

I'm looking for a George Jones whose a boiler maker or something similar.

Many many thanks

Hi

If anybody is going to the Records Office and can spare the time - could I ask for a lookup for the following marriage please?

September qtr 1883 at Christ Church Edge Hill

George Reid to Mary Ann Cockburn

It's not on the IGI or the Vital Records

If I have the right marriage - George's father should also be George - a cabinet maker, and Mary Ann's should be Joseph
Cheers

Hi Mary A,

St Ambrose - 26.5.1912 John Edgar - 22 - Bachelor - Labourere of 69 hina Street - Father - John Edgar - Electrician to Emily Birchall - 20 - Spinster of Same Address - Father - Henry Birchall - Bricklayer - After Banns by John W Baker - Vicar

Ed Officer

St Albans would not have been yours as George was only down as a Workman! However you have a choice with the two from St. Nics (both boiler makers) as follows:-

10.10.1854 George Jones - Full - Bachelor - Boiler Maker - Parish of Liverpool - Father John Jones - Brewer - to Mary Whitehead - Full - Spinster - Parish of Liverpool - Father - Robert Whitehead - Farmer - By Licence - Witnesses Joseph Berry and Ann Crowther
Only George signed the register others made X

8.1.1854 George Jones - Full - Bachelor - Boilermaker of Cheapside - Father William Jones - Labourer to Mary Derbyshire - Full - Spinster of Russell Street - Father William Derbyshire - Labourer - After Banns
Witnesses - William Young and Alice Mason. Alice made X others signed.

Carole W

Sorry but I got the wrong Christ Church Register out twice, wrong date scribbled down and didn't have time to re-check. It is 283KEN is anyone else is going.
Most of the ones I wanted were in the search room today so it takes time waiting for them to be brought out. You can only order 3 registers at a time even though it only takes a couple of minutes to check when you have the year and quarter.
I will keep your details and hopefully may get there again next week.

I normally go walking on a Wednesday but the forecast was so bad I backed out and decided to spend the afternoon in the Record Office. Hope that the others are helpful.

Eileen, thank you very much, your help is much appreciated as it's taken me one more step on what was a hunch until your confirmation.

We should be thankful for the bad weather

Just a PS Eileen please - should the address have a capital letter ie Hina Street, or is a C missed off and it should be China Street?

Thanks.

Cheers for that Irene, I felt awful not getting it yesterday. Carole will be pleased as it appears to be the correct match.

Hope you did well for your own research too. I did yesterday, but most of them were in the Search room which takes so much longer with the waiting time.
