Born 1901 RD455 SD11 ED27 West Derby
Unfortunately there are two Davies families either living in the same house or at least nearby. Possible fathers are Samuel 33 or Charles William 40.

Possible mothers Matilda 31 or Mary Jane 37. Only child old enough for identification in 1901 is Mary Jane 11.

Would it be worth looking at the electoral rolls for Whittaker St to see who lived there?

As your man is in the Mercahnt servcie could he not be from anywhere but just met his future wife when ashore in Liverpool. He could then be from anywhere if you see what I mean.

You definitely know his birth date but don't have his birth certificate or have I got that wrong?

Hi Colette

The George and Emily Davies with son Charles found by Mary A could be the one. George has his occupation as Railway Police, he was born Welshpool, Mont. and they were living at 74 Upper Stanhope Street. If you need further details let me know.

I think you will need to get the birth cert of Charles Frederick to be sure.

Hi Eileen

The George & Emily sound promising.. re birth cert we dont have it as we dont know where he came from my friend said they always thought his father was a Welsh Miner.. but they didnt have a clue.. Charles never mentioned siblings at all.

Birth date taken from death and burial

Hi

This family Mary found

George Davies b 1864 Welshpool Mont..Wales

In 1901 hes in St Helens at Prescot Rd

George Davies age 35 Railway Detective b Welshpool
Wife Sarah E age 31 b Llandysilo
Dau Evelyn age 7 b Forden
Son Edward J age 5 b Crewe
Son John age 3 b Lpool
Son George age 1 b St Helens

1901 74 Upper Stanhope St

William Longstaff age 47 b Westmorland
Wife Emily age 36 b Middlesex
Son William age 10 b Lpool
Son Arthur age 3 b Lpool
Son George age 1 b Lpool

George Davies marries Emily Longstaff West Derby 1909..

There is a death for a Sarah Elizabeth Davies West Derby June 1908 aged 40 who fits..

That would make all the Davies children on the 1911 Hers.

Plus the Charles Frederick Davies birth reg i found under Prescot..could be the right one as wouldnt Prescot be the reg district for St Helens.....

Right kids

the 1911 directory says 74 Upper Stanhope St GEORGE DAVIES POLICE SERGEANT :D

So i am thinking we may have found him and if my theory is right the birth cert Charles Frederick Davies 1901 Prescot might be right..

Yep Prescot would do for St Helens and it also fits with my searches that John should have birthplace Liverpool.

Nice bit of detective work everyone.

Collette

I have e-mailed you the details of the 1911 for George and Emily Davies.

Looks as if this is the correct one this time.
