and this I suspect, is the same family in 1851 but no sign of Stephen.

11 Pleasant Street, Mount Pleasant, Liverpool
Sarah Lunt Head Wid 55 Lancashire Sutton
John son U 26 Paper Stainer Liverpool
John grandson 8 months "
Ann Taylor lodger W 74 Upholsteress Lancashire Lancaster
Elizabeth Jackson Lodger W 55 Upholsteress Liverpool
HO107; Piece: 2182; Folio: 204; Page: 39

I was hoping for a Jane, but so far there isn't one.

Of course that's not to say that Jane was single when she married, she could have been a widow and that would throw the cat among the pigeons without the details from the marriage cert.

Parents William and Sarah

Also with same parents and same church
Thomas 9 April 1820
and

This one is more sensible, living in the same area as in 1851
1841
Chapel Lane, Mount Pleasant, Liverpool
All born in County
Esther Mitch? 20 Dressmaker
Sarah Lunt 40 Dressmaker
John 14
Stephen 10
HO107; Piece 560; Book: 9; Enumeration District: 9; Folio: 17; Page: 29

Transcribed as Lund but reads Lunt clearly.

Just a comment following from Simone's family in the 1851 and 1861 censuses above. The two Maddrell children are, I believe, stepchildren to James who married a Margaret Maddrell in St Philip's 1858, then went on to marry an Alice Jones in 1866. I don't know if young Jane is his child or not.

Just to rewind a bit back to thw William Lee son of Margaret in 1841,, she also has son's Jospeh and George. says she is not born in county :?

HO107; Piece 568; Book: 19; Civil Parish: Liverpool; County: Lancashire; Enumeration District: 72; Folio: 8; Page: 10;
Name Age
Margaret Lee 41
William Lee 13
Joseph Lee 8
George Lee 5

Intersting that in 1851 what looks like her appears with no William but extra son Richard and sons Joseph and George again.. now born Liverpool, (found by Mary previously) but interesting that she is living next door but one to Joseph Ellames and his family

Name Age 4 Pembroke St
HO107; Piece: 2183; Folio: 54; Page: 45;
Margaret Lee 56
Richard Lee 21
Joseph Lee 18
George Lee 15

Name Age
Joseph Ellames 48 b Chester
Emma Ellames 46 b Chester
John Ellames 25
Charles Ellames 22
Ann Ellames 24
Emma Ellames 14
William Ellames 12
Joseph Ellames 10
James Ellames 3
Elizabeth Jones 24

Gosh - off line for a day and it's mushroomed.
I am a bit confused about all of the thread but it's fun how things can get interwoven :? I am going to have to print it all out a study it.
I don't believe we're any closer to finding William Lee in 1851 (could be the older brother of one of the Richards in Blucoat in 1841) I think Simone said she might have a look at some time - what do people think. :?:

Is there anywhere i can find Blacksmiths listed to see if William Lee senior turns up?
cheer
