old maps of warrington

Post by ceri »

My mother's family lived around Watkin St, West St,Orford St, Winwick Rd. These have all gone due to 20century redevelopment. Are there old maps and photo archives I could tap into to help form a picture of what it was like for them?
Also they worked at Atherton Quay and in the factory yard as cotton spinners in 1841.

The Alan Godfrey map series contains a couple of old Warrington from (I think) 1902 which should have what you need. They're only about £3 and are available to order online
