I would go for 'Tinman' - the 'T' looks like the 'T' in 'The' [as well as resembling the 'F']. [And the script taught in those days was supposed to be legible!]
If you have another paper showing tinsmith that would seem to clinch it.

I really appreciate everyone's help!
It takes about 3 weeks for a record to get here from the GRO, so I should have Patrick Flynn (Flinn)'s MC by the end of the month. I'm hoping it will have his age, his father's name, and his father's occupation. I do know that he was married in Liverpool.

Here is the marriage certificate for Andrew Flynn's parents, but I'm not sure if it's at all helpful. Patrick's age isn't given--and I'm a little suspicious of Patrick's father's name. Davis (?) Flinn seems a little unlikely.

I searched for a Davis Flinn on Ancestry and came up with

1841 census Fazakerley Street Liverpool
Davis (I think it says Denis but it's transcribed as Davis) Flinn 50 porter born Ireland
Catherine Flinn 45 bn Ireland
Abigail Flinn 20 dressmaker not born in county but it doesn't say she was born in irelamd so they must have been in another country before arriving in Liverpool
John Flinn 13 not born in county

Could it be Denis his father rather than Davis

I enlarged Patrick's father's name, and it could be Denis!

I just looked in the IGI and found a Dennis Flinn who married a Catherine Porter in 1818.
(Is it possible that Denis Flinn's occupation in the 1841 Census isn't "Porter"--but that that was his wife's maiden name?!)

Porter was deinietely in the occupation column. It's just coincidence!

However I reckon you've found the likely marriage. Unfortunately before civil registration began in 1837 marriage entries did not give the father's name. It'd still be worth perhaps asking for a look up or doing it yourself for the marriage as there may be some clues in the entry.
