Dear Friends greetings from Texas, I would very much appreciate a look up in the following Liverpool Directories:
1855, 1855, 1860 and 1873
The street in Liverpool is called Upper Williams Street.
I would be interested to know about anyone named WALKER (family name) living on that street.
Thanking you in anticipation, Joe.

Not much help!
Hi All
1873 (nightmare directory) has Upper Williams St off Great Howard St.
2 houses only listed, cannot find rest of street.
1853, it's listed in the Directory of Lpool streets. Haven't found it with occupants as yet.
4 pages of Walkers, none in Uppr Wms St.

I am trying to find a Catherine Byrne who was living on Upper Williams St at the time of her marriage in 1875. If I find her, then there might be a chance of finding her parents at the same location.
Her parents were Laurence and Catherine Byrne (Ireland Dublin City)
The reason why I am backtracking is the two records in the censuses of Catherine b 1822 & Laurence b 1811 shows them both times as Dressmaker & Tailor !1861 Liverpool & 1871 Manchester.
Both times living without any relatives.
Yet on their daughters wedding Certificate she shows her father as being a Moulder, which if I am not mistaken has something to do with brickmaking. {the two professions are not compatible}
What also seems strange is that I have found only the one child a daughter Catherine Byrne b 1849 Ireland, considering they were Irish!
Also Mother Catherine Byrne ( spelling incorrectly changed to Burns by transcriber, with the Walker family in the 1881 census, which confirms her age)
What would you suggest? thanks Joe
PS is there a 1875 Liverpol Directory available? WJ

Upper William Street
Hi Joe,
An address search of the 1861 census revealed no hits for Upper Williams Street but there was one for Upper William Street. The latter listed 29 dwellings, all in the Clarence and Victoria Buildings. On the census page it is definitely Upper Williams St. From a quick browse most appear occupied, usually by more than one family. If you have a 'house' number for Catherine I will check it for you.
I couldn't find it in 1871 but in 1881 there are 24 listed dwellings. Most appear occupied. This time they are referred to as 'Courts', so perhaps the older 'Buildings' had been replaced.
Was there an Upper Williams St as well as an Upper William St?
Cheers,
Dickiesam
PS: There were 'moulders' in many trades as well as brickmaking.... iron, brass, glass-blowing etc and in hat and stiff collar & cuff making.

Friends, TNA. ERICA and Dickiesam,
Please note these changes in the Question (my mistake)
a) I am searching for the Family BYRNE not WALKER
b) Pointed out by Dickiesam there is no Upper Williams St
but an Upper Willliam St. It might have been an error by the operson writing the details of the Wedding Certificate!! Joe
