Can anyone help, I have discovered that in the 1911 census my great grandparents (although from Liverpool) were living at 3 Marsh Hall Pad in Widnes, g grandad was listed as working in a Caustic Soda plant, (any ideas on where that was? Also, two of the children were born Farnworth(others born in Liverpool) and one of the children (Daniel Nickson) was age 1 on the census, and he died in 1912, I have discovered the nearest CofE church would be St Lukes, but where would Daniel likely to have been buried?
I don't know Widnes at all, so I am just guessing where things are, I know that Marsh Hall Pad is still there, I googled it.
I am not even sure if Daniel Nickson was even buried in Widnes, the family moved back to Toxteth, my gran was born in Toxteth in Dec 1913, so I have no idea if the family moved after Daniel died, or indeed if they moved back to Toxteth and buried him there. I have looked on the Toxteth Burial site, but at the moment only up to 1911 has been transcribed.
I have also found my g grandad's army papers, and he signed up in 1914, and he lived in Toxteth (off Lodge Lane), it was great seeing those papers, it gave all the dates and places of birth of all the living children, also the date of marriage for my g grandparents.
I have just googled the address in Widnes, it was in a good area, Coroners Lane was always the place to live; Widnes Cemetery is very near there, and so is St. Lukes church.
Reading your message I would think it will be more likely to be TPC if they moved back to Toxteth.
I was just reading through the posts, and came across yours. I have the Widnes Cemetery burial CD, I thought I would check it out. Indeed Daniel Nickson is there.
Grave No: 3802 Sect: 10C Daniel Nickson aged 2 yrs died 24 Apr 1912 buried 27 Apr 1912 - died at 177 Albert Road buried from Widnes.
He is not buried with any other Nickson, I think he is in a public grave.
