I posted a link for maps of a variety of dates here http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... php?t=5850 but although old-maps does find Leeds Street, I find zooming in on it makes the image very pixellated and so not easy to read.
It was in the same place as it is now anyway, so look at it on streetmap.co.uk and check out some of the older ones, perhaps using the co-ordinates.
Look Up William Stirrup

I have been wondering - I still cant find the Stirrup family on the 1861 census and was wondering if they had ended up in the workhouse. The trouble is the 1861 census for the workhouse just seems to consist of initials and no full names. As far as I can makeout there are loads of films for the workhouse in Liverpool RO Would I have to trawl through all of them from 1851 onwards to at least 1861? It seems if they were in there they had come out again before James got married in 1867. What are the chances of finding them - anybody have a clue? Thanks
I'm trying to find the extended family of Phoebe Stirrup b. 25 Oct 1807 at Warrington, Lancashire. Her parents were Thomas Stirrup & Mary Cloweth who married 2 May 1799 at Runcorn, Cheshire, England.
There is a Thomas Stirrup born to William & Phoebe Stirrup at Burtonwood in 1776. Perhaps he was the Thomas who married Mary Cloweth. And William & Phoebe are my Phebe's grandparents.
Perhaps other Stirrup researchers who come across this post may have this family in their tree.
Regards, Rob
