Hi, have just registered for the forum.
Via my mother I am descended from the Corrin family of the Isle of Man, who moved to Liverpool in the early 1900s, settling in Kensington. My Grandfather was born in Kensington in 1918 but following service in the Army never returned to live in the City but settled in Bristol after marrying my Grandmother during WW2. His sister lived in Kensington until her death in 1979, although I believe there are a number of cousins etc still living in the Liverpool area.
Among my ancestors there is
Captain William Charles Corrin, Master Mariner. Born Isle of Man 1855, died Liverpool 1936, buried West Derby. My Great Great Grandfather
Annie Corrin, born 1857 Isle of Man, died Liverpool 1945, buried West Derby, My Great Great Grandmother, wife of above
William Henry Corrin, born 1883 Isle of Man, died Liverpool 1931, buried West Derby. My Great Grandfather
Amy Isabella Corrin, born 1885, Isle of Man, died Liverpool 1922, buried West Derby, My Great Grandmother, wife of above
The family were closely tied to the Monkhouse family of Kensington. A sister and brother from the Corrin family married a brother and sister from the Monkhouse family.
Just wondering if anyone else on the forum is connected to the Corrins.

Re: Corrin family Liverpool
Hi
Welcome to the forum. I have Corrin from Rushen I don't recognise any of those names but then again it's a very common Manx surname. My Corrins were farmers and fishermen in Rushen.

Re: Corrin family Liverpool
I am tenuously connected, Edith Corrin married William Anderson in West Derby 1912. Their daughter Edith married Stanley Orritt, my 1st cousin once removed.
Edith's relations trace back to William Corrin born Lezayre IOM in 1843.
Good luck with your search.

Re: Corrin family Liverpool
Thanks for the replies, I've got a fairly comprehensive family record. As my Granfather lived a long life, 1918-2007 he was able to pass on info spanning relatives born in the 1850s onwards.
