John (James) Roberts b 1878 West Derby

It is a very miserable day here. Hope you have better.
John is my 3rd cousin 1 x removed. His parents were Elizabeth Double b 1846 and John Roberts b 1846 both Liverpool. The problem is his marriage. I had him marrying Sophia Udhe in 1897 Liverpool father John. BUT I have a DNA match who has a John Roberts b 1878 Liverpool , father John Roberts. He has him marrying Margaret Holden b 1883. From Free BMD this marriage took place in 1901 West Derby. I wonder id anyone can see the church record for this marriage so that I can see if the address or witnesses were any help in sorting out the correct marriage.
I don't recognise the witnesses on the first marriage in 1897 or the address. I also cannot find John and Sophie in 1901 census, or John on his own in 1901. HELP please. Thanks

Thanks for the marriage certificate. I wonder who he was married to before (he is a widower) . The John and Sophia 1901 is good, but I need to check the marriage.
John the father (of my John) is dead by 1911 as Elizabeth his wife is with her granddaughter at 22 Latham Rd Bootle. so he may have been deceased in 1901 on marriage to Margaret Holden.
Where is Dryberry St ? Is it Bootle/ Kirkdale area ? Must go to my physio now . Thanks

I think I have found "my" John in 1901

Bertram Roberts 17 This is given as her daughter, so I think it should be Beatrice who would be 17, b 1884. The other children are correct.

If this is the case John cannot have married Sophia in 1897. It says John is single ... Marriage to Margaret Holden later in the year, says he is a widower.

I have found a baptism for John Roberts b 4 Mar 1878 at St Peter's on 6 May. I think this is more likely to be them as their abode is Kirkdale. So I no longer think he was called \\john \james.

I had forgotten about Lancs BMD, as they don't normally have anything that i want. They must have added more. I had tried Lancs On line parish clerk, but it was not on there.
