Why were these children schooled in Chester.

Hi, I hope this is the correct place to put this question. My Godsoe family have made me concerned.
William James Godsoe married Alice Scott in 1925 Liverpool. It may have been in a Catholic church as he was baptised at St Patrick's.
They has 3 children, that I can find.
Thomas Godsoe b 1926 Liverpool, died 1986 Liverpool
Joan b 1929 Liverpool
Alice 1934 Liverpool.
The problem is the 1939 register. As far as I can see

William and Alice are on their own, possibly in Laxey Street, Liverpool (the first record is blanked , so the street cannot be seen.) He is a ships scaler.
There 3 children all still at school are else where.
Thomas is at Henry Street, Chester, with a family.
Joan is at 43, Walter St Chester with the Wilkinson family
I cannot find Alice at this moment. I am sure I found her earlier, because it said below school age.
Why would the children have been sent away to Chester? Would they have been evacuated or is it too early?
Any info would be useful

Evacuation started on September 1, 1939.

Enumeration was September 29, 1939.

Yes, Chester most likely was an evacuation area, some years ago I spoke to someone who was evacuated from Birkenhead to just up the road to Greasby.

Deemed to be safer away from the docks and industrial areas.

Alice Godsoe married Bernard J Rice, 1959, Liverpool

An Alice Rice died, 1999, Knowsley, birth date, 3 April, 1934.

If the above is the correct lady, I'm not sure the 39 has been updated (Ancestry) to include her?

I looked for ages to find Alice and Anc only came up with 4 people. Did not include Godsal. Thanks for all your hard work. I had a good link from my DNA matches with a surname Godsoe. This link is from James Whitney Godsoe b 1809 in St Johns New Brunswick. (I think I have mentioned him before.) I suppose this shows that my William Godsoe must have been related to James Whitney Godsoe, even though they were from different countries. Both in Liverpool 1841. I now need to find if they had the same mother.

Yes many children have been found evacuated in the 1939 Register so this would certainly seem the likely answer.

I will also change your original post as you state they married in 1825 rather than 1925.
