St. Michael's Council School

[Richard Owen]

I am looking for information about St. Michael's Council School.
My Grandmother Susannah (Wynne) Owen, two aunts Catherine Jane Owen and Gladys Wynne Owen and my father Owen Wynne Owen all attended that school
I doubt it still exists but would be interested to find out about it.
Susannah attended in the 1890s and the others in the early 1900s
I have class pictures for around 1913
Any info would be appreciated

Unfortunately that particular St Michael's doesn't seem to be amongst them.

1901 18 Rosslyn Street Toxteth Park
1906 54 Aigburth Road Toxteth Park
1911 15 Blythswood St Liverpool

They came to Canada in February 1914

From the addresses given it is most certainly St Michael's Hamlet School.

St Michaels, Lark Lane became Christ Church School,

St Michaels South, Cornwallis St, approx. 2.1 miles away (Google maps)

St Michaels Hamlet School, 4 minute walk from addresses.

My apology for not getting back to further update this posting.
I have confirmed that St Michael in the Hamlet, off Aigburth Road is the successor school to St. Michael Council School which was located on AigburthRoad

I went to St. Michaels. The summer I left the old school building was unfortunately demolished. (Buckets collecting leaking water everywhere ha.) There was a swimming pool in the basement which was really cool.
I've seen some old pictures online of children there being evacuated during the Blitz, If you find any old pictures. please let me know.

As mentioned before I have a class picture with both of my aunts in it. It is dated 1913

The school is still here . They just knocked down the building in 1996 and a newer building was put in its place. They might still have some archives in the school and they might also be interested in showing your photos to the pupils.
