Liverpool Register Office in 1912

Post by daggers »

Relatives were married at Liverpool Register Office in 1912, but the recent copy certificate (which I have) does not show any address. Can anyone please oblige with an address? Was it Brougham Terrace, perhaps?

It appears Brougham Terrace was also a Registry Office in 1912, would Brownlow Hill and Brougham Terrace have their own registrar's?

What registrar's name is on the marriage cert? 1911 Directory, Brownlow Hill was William Bicknell.

Bicknell was the Superintendent Registrar for Liverpool Select Vestry Union (central Liverpool). The Registrar of Marriages was T F Littlar.

Brougham Terrace was one of several register offices in the West Derby Union.

Thanks for your interest.
The certificate was signed by Thomas F Littlar, Registrar [top line] and W H Bicknell, Supt Registrar [lower line]. The registration district was Liverpool, not West Derby.
I guess this makes it Brownlow Hill?
