Looks like it was James again. [I think Jacobi is James. Can't find a death for Nora up to 1915. I wonder if she was with her father in 1901 and if she was sent to Canada like little Alice.

Wow, Now that is clever. Thanks . I cannot find the death of Esther Ellen's Husband ( Edward Clark,) In the 1891 census they lived with his Father in Great Crosby. Father called Lawrence and mother Mary Ann or visa versa ie. Ann Mary.
After 1901 Esther Ellen was in Widnes 1894, and Blackburn 1896 and 1901.
Thanks for any help

I found that one, but what about Esther Ellen having these other children with James and A N Other and possibly the rest of the 9 we have not found yet. So far only 2 living. Of course they may have taken their father's name .
In the 1901 census she says she is a widow, reusing the name Mitchell.
I wonder if Edward threw he out after her affair with James E Mitchell.
Thomas Greenwood does not give a mmn on the GRO.

Thanks for help. Where did you find about Nora? If Edward Clark did not die until 1903, where is he in 1901?

Lynne,

56 Soho Street appears to have been a Public House.

1900 Elec reg and directory, Robert McGregor, Victualler, if this name rings any bells?

1901 census, James Martin, Publican.

Just when I thought we had found him and some of the missing children. You are so good at this and thankyou very much. I think he must have died earlier. They had William Clark 1892 who died the same year , reg West Derby, So were living in Crosby I would think. Perhaps he died soon after.

Lynne,

William Frederick Clarke, born 18/1/1892,
Baptised, St Peter's, 1 Feb, 1892
Parents, Edward Clarke, Esther,
Edward was a Mariner, address, Plan St

Birth Registered, March Qtr, Liverpool. 1892 mmn, Mitchell.
Death Registered June Qtr, West Derby, 1892

There is a William Clarke buried at Ford, 25 December, 1892, 4 months old, address, Essex St.
I think he can be ruled out.

Perhaps deaths at sea needs to be checked for Edward? Ancestry only goes up to 1890.

Thanks Mary. I cannot view the link. It comes up, but it is grey and not legible. Where did you find the info, it would help me trace other deaths. I think it will be him because the date and time are correct.

Lynne,

It is difficult to see, on your electronic wizardry? use higher zoom.

I had to set mine to 400, it's fine then.

I'm afraid the original image is quite dark, don't know if these are any better, the more I fiddle the less clear the text becomes.

I found on the original it was easier to read if you hold the Ctrl key down and scroll with the mousewheel to make it larger.

Try Findmypast for any others, put "sea" in the A-Z search and lots of databases will show up, including deaths.
