Can anyone tell me when this firm closed down please and also if they went bankrupt. Any help would be most welcome.

There's mention of them in the 1934 Echo (can't open) at 102-104, also mentioned, 1935, Echo.

Not in the 1938 Liverpool Directory.

The entry Bert must have seen, Liverpool Echo, 20 June, 1934.
There is mention of them helping out at an event in December 13, 1935 so they were still in business then.

Can't see anything else relating to them in the Echo, although possibly there might be more in - is it the London Gazette that lists bankrupts?

Perhaps it would be a good idea to check the directories to see when is the last mention of them.

Mary and Bert - thanks for your endeavours. Bert - the Gazette page is 'signed' by the Registrar of Companies and it looks like a page which could refer to companies going into liquidation. Would it be possible to find the previous page which might contain an explanatory heading? - Peter
