Can any one help please - ALBERT JAMES COWARD

Post by BJD »

One of my sister's and I are trying to get information on our dad's father. We do have some details but they are not complete. We are Hoping to find info on his mother and siblings. We also hope to get his army details.
To us everything seems complicated. Our name was always DAVIES bot my dad was registered as Edward James COWARD. BUT that's for another day I think.
Dad's father is named as ALBERT JAMES COWARD ( KNOWN AS Bert).
His father was GEORGE COWARD b Liverpool 1867
His mother CATHERINE COWBUTS B BATH 1868
Address on Alberts birth cert is 1920
52 UPPER HILL STREET
TOXTETH PARK, LIVERPOOL 8.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE FOR ARMY.
LIVERPOOL REG 1914 - 1920
ARMY NO. 14730 with incomplete written at side
RANK LANCE SGT
W/O 372/5.

I have tried to research this before a d luckily I kept some of the paper details I had scribbled down. Computer crashed and I lost everything. I WILL BACK UP IN FUTURE.
some of problem my sister and I have is that she lives in Australia

I hope someone can help us get this cleared up and the truth be known to the 2 of us
Thank you

Wow!! Thank you everyone. This is really great.
Got a lot to get my head around now. Things are all a surprise to me. Can't wait until my sister gets this information. When I learn how to send it to her.

Easiest way is to go to the address line above - begins https:// and click on it. Once it is highlighted hit your Ctrl key and while holding it press C.

Go to your email to your sister and in the body hold the Ctrl key and press V, so pasting the link in the email. Then all she has to do is click it.

Windows think that ALBERT had other children. The reason I think this is because my mum (IN a nasty mood) told me that my dad had worked with his half brother that he didn't know about and that he was Bert Cowards son. He worked at the bus sheds at Penny Lane. No n.a. e for him though. That would have been around 1950's

Your best way of confirming this is to check the BMD records for other births with the same parents surnames, Use https://www.freebmd.org.uk/ for post 1911 and https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/cert ... /Login.asp for earlier.
