There are other possibilities - the Parish Registers of the church where they were baptised may not be available online, may not have been scanned, may even still be in the church's holdings and not deposited with the Record Office, they may have been destroyed either purposefully or accidentally.

Don't give up, one day something may just pop up.

Just scratching an itch,

The baptism found for Henry Cross, November 1831, St Peters Priory, Parents, John & Barbara Cross, Godparents, James Pilkington & Susan Pilkington.
This child possibly died, 1832?

According to the 1841 census, Henry is 7, birth approx. 1833/34.

Baptism, St Patricks, 1834, Henry Cross, Parents, John Cross, Barbara Pilkington, God Parents, James Pilkington, Rhoda Harrington.

It looks like the family maybe Catholic and as far as i am aware R/C records that cover Prescot are not online. There is a R/C Church on Portico Lane. Details below.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_ ... h,_Portico

I have looked at these records on Micro Film, can't remember if it was at Huyton Reference Library/St. Helens or Preston.
