You can do that sort of look up in the microfiche at the Record Office.

Thanks Mary. Is that doing a surname search for Ford cemetery on a microfiche and cross referencing the grave number, or is it a case of putting in the grave number and it will tell me everyone who is interred? I seem to remember that Crosby library has the former also.

The box of microfiche for the RC cemeteries has two parts, the front is the named index which gives you the grave reference, date and which cemetery. Taking the Grave number and checking the back of the box gives you a list of who else is in that grave.

Thank you so much for that Mary, very much appreciated. Mary Dillon??? Not even in my tree. Born 1828 ish. Maybe brother of Edward? I have just been to Crosby library, and they do have the microfiche records for Ford, Yew Tree and Ainsdale cemeteries. As you said, the folder is in two parts; the back contains the grave number and shows all who are interred, and the front is the name of the person, and gives the corresponding plot number and interment date. Ironically I forgot to look up SP41 so thank you again

It's good to know that it's available there too.

Worth investigating Mary Dillon but always bear in mind that somebody may have mistranscribed something. If you check out the original burial register she has been squeezed in and there is room there for error.

I had one similarly myself and on asking at the cemetery they confirmed that the unknown person wasn't actually in that grave.

Looking at the burial records, you can see where the confusion occurs. Image

I need to check further. I notice that Bridget Montague was living at 50 Dublin Street at the time of death. Whether it is Mary Dillon or Amy Pearson that should be on the record....
