This is definitely my great grandfather. I cannot understand why his wife Alice would be looking for her husband ! ! (2nd post at start of this). Lyh
Re: MISSING FRIENDS 1913
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Great information. I am related to Joseph Lucas (Lucas headlights etc) through the Hall family. I am struggling to find the connection. Someone mentioned a Mary Owen (connected to a Robert Hall and a Martha). Quite a long (very long!) shot but Joseph Lucas' second wife was a Mary Owen. Does anyone have any information or ideas on how I can connect all this up ? Thank you.

Re: MISSING FRIENDS 1913
Try looking in the 1911 census and see if she was on her own. If I get a minute I will have a look.
Not knowing their ages or places of birth, nothing jumps out at me . Sorry

Re: MISSING FRIENDS 1913
Oops read that but it did not register.
If she thinks her husband may still be alive, can he be found in the 1911 census? Or 1904 directories? I'll go and put my brain back in.

Thanks Mary. Glad you are on the mend. Hope you will be really better by Christmas.
Re: MISSING FRIENDS 1913 WILLIAM HALL AND WIFE ALICE
Hello.
I have managed to trace all my family back to great, great great grandparents both maternal and paternal. I was sent a wrong birth certificate by Liverpool BDM. This led me barking up the wrong tree!
Also great grandfather had 2 marriages the first no one had ever mentioned. I have enjoyed searching my family and I am now in touch with my cousin by email. Another great cousin is in contact with me through the ancestry site. I am going to keep my contact open here as there are a few little tweeks to find. I started this search all the first males born carry the middle name Lucas. I found Joseph Lucas (from Lucas headlight dynasty) is my great, great uncle.
A huge, huge thank you to you all for you help. What a wonderful site this is. lyh
