For queries within the area of Lancashire between the Ribble and the Mersey.
This board covers the areas of all our Groups - Liverpool, Southport, Warrington, Skelmersdale, Leigh and Widnes.
I would just like to say - please be sure NOT to order certificates via any subscription site as their charge is exorbitant. If you aren't ordering from a local Register Office then always use the GRO direct as they are as quick providing them and probably cheaper than anywhere else at only £9.25. https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/cert ... /Login.asp

Most of the addresses you mentioned were in Kirkdale and Bootle. Rydal Street was in Litherland near Bootle. This makes the Chelsea Road candidate a good possibility as it's in the right part of Merseyside. Here is some information about the addresses mentioned and a link to a map showing Chelsea Road in Litherland just down the road from Bootle:-
Hector Street Kirkdale (off Celia Street) now new housing
Oregon Street Bootle (now Bootle Strand Shopping Centre)
Chelsea Road Litherland (between Hornby Blvd and Linacre Road)
St John’s Road (part in Kirkdale, part in Bootle)
Thornton Road Bootle (between Marsh Lane and Linacre Lane)
Rydal Street Litherland (off Webster Street) now new housing it was opposite Towcester Street
Thank you ...I did look for some of those streets ...I found Thornton road on google maps...I found out my family also lived in 94 before moving down to 48 ...don't know when they moved to Rydal st because in the 1939 site they are still in Thornton Road....in 1953 in 7 Rydal st and number 4 Rydal st in 1965...I shall look up the two other streets later...this is getting very exciting for me because we new nothing only a one or two things my mother mentioned as she passed away when I was 15 years old and she was 45 years old....so thank you once again....
My mother worked for Llittlewoods the pools people and she said she use to cycle to work so that would be from Thornton Road ...she married in 1937 and moved with my two half siblings to Anglesey in 1942 to get away from the bombing in Liverpool...her husband was in the army abroad....and as happened a lot during the war they drifted apart and she met my father she never lived in Liverpool full time again ...but she use to visit every month after the war....up untill she passed away in 1962...

Blue I am a happy bunny this morning the Ann Smith who lived in Chelsea Road has got to be my great grandmother (vol 8b. Page 368 ) the informant was her brother C. Moody ( moody was her maiden name and she had a brother called Charles) who was present at the death...it's also says she was the wife of John Smith....I don't know how to thank you all so much for your help....

Yes thank you I have done...so sad she was laid to rest in a public grave but I expect money was short then....( she died from Progressive Pernicious Aneomea Hemorrhage and Exhaustion)
Not online, Stillbirths are a separate register available only via the GRO and only to a next of kin.

That is a shame Mary ....but am going to pay a visit to the library...have been before about 2 years ago ....because I have so many past family from Liverpool I always feel as if it's coming home to me love it there.
I had a brilliant time in Liverpool the other week...went to two streets that where still there....also went to the library....but I was told that most of the things I wanted to know would be in The Crosby Library...so that's for my next trip next year now......Do any of you have any Kelly's dictionary's for the end of 1940's into 1950's.....many thanks ...
So glad you enjoyed your trip to Liverpool, although I had no doubt that you would
I'm afraid directories for those dates are probably a little late for our members to hold their own copies, they will be on microfilm at the library though, or in book form probably at Crosby, depending on the date and area you are interested in.
