Hello to everyone I am new to this site...am hoping someone will be able to help me..
I have tried and tried to find my G/Grandmothers registration of death...Annie Smith passed away some time between 1891 -1901....she was brought up in Hector st Kirkdale West Derby...with her Mother Mary Moody (widowed) brother Charles Moody and Sister Edith Moody ...I know that she married a John Henry Smith in 1892 and gave birth to a baby girl who she called Edith Mary Smith in 1893 and her address at the time of her chirstening was Oregon St...I have tracked John Henry Smith right up to 1911 in St Johns Road ?...The baby girl his daughter Edith Mary Smith ( my Grandmother) was living with Mary Moody her G/mother in 1901 ..and up until she got married in 1937 from 48 Thornton Road Bottle where they had moved too...I just can't understand why I can't find Annies death details....
My mother was evacuated in 1944 to Anglesey with two small children...and she never went back to live there only lots of visits...she passed away at 45 to cancer I was only 15.. so I have had to find out so much about my family from the internet helped by a few things I new...plus my mother was an only child...her Great Aunt was the last one to pass away 1965 her name was Edith Rankin (sister to Annie Moody/Smith) and she passed away at 4 Rydal st Bootle Liverpool 21...I hope someone can lead me on the way to finding Annie's death date etc...
Hi and welcome to the forum. It does seem that Annie died very young, but would explain why the child was with family.

George I have merged these topics, hope the lady picks up the notification and makes use of your suggestion.
This is unfortunately a typical example of why we ask for a meaningful heading to the posts, still never mind it's been changed now and we've found it.

Hello George I don't know if you are asking me or someone else? I would gladly like you know if it's my Smith you have..
Annie Moody born 1973....married a John Henry Smith in 1892...had a daughter in 1893...and after that something happened because the daughter (my grandmother) was brought up by her grandmother....and John was down as a widower....I have found him in 1901 and 1911 census and think I have his death certificate...
Many Thanks
You may have more luck with this one as the address is in the right part of Merseyside.

I have sent for two Annie Smith certificates...I received today but they are little babies....I am going to send for the above one and just maybe have better luck...
Blue70 wrote:Wrong death certificates that you thought were Annie? The death indexes have the age at death so shouldn't you have known they were too young?

Am sorry....no the ones I looked at where the BMB ones on line and no age shown..where are the ones that show the age ...I am new to this looking for families on line...so maybe I am doing it wrong....
The GRO site now has indexes too with extra information such as mothers' surnames for some birth indexes and age at death for earlier records that are not available elsewhere:-
