I've made it easier to access the individual 18th century Liverpool directories by providing links to each one. They are much shorter than the later ones so it should be easier to find the Bradshaws on them:-

My second attempt. Lost the first one
I am back to marking tonight so I thought I would give you an update.

Firstly. I have received the will from the Lancashire records office and it appears to be the correct one. He mentions his wife Ellen (which I did not know before) which if a common name down the family.
He gives the names of 4 children; William; Edmund; Ellen and Ann, which are the only 4 children that I have for him that were still alive when he died. (Other 6 died before this.)
He owned 4 houses and after the death or remarriage of his wife he left on to each of these children. Handy hey
These houses were North of the dock, West of the dock, School Lane and Hastletines Wint??? Any ideas about this. One of the children's burial was given with an address of "Side 'oth Dock" in 1742.
A lot to think about.

Secondly Thanks to Blue's link to the family search documents for stones from St Peter's church, I have made progress as well.
Stone number 140 at St Peter's.
I think the person who transcribed these found it difficult to distinguish between a "9" and a "4".
Thomas son of Edmund is given on the stone as 1795. From my research and looking at the info on the Online Parish Clerk (OPC) this should be 1745. Otherwise he would have been born before his father. Going on from this I looked at the info on the stone transcription for his father Edmund. This gives him as dying in 1797 aged 59. Cannot be or he was born after Richard who died in 1742 aged 20. (From both grave stone and OPC.) From OPC he actually died 1747 and given age as 59 that would give a date of birth of 1688. To confirm this for both these deaths the day and month of death agree from OPC and grave if you just change the number 9 in the years to a 4.

It is really useful being a scientist and cross-referencing info.

All I need now if to find out how Elizabeth Perry (only one I can find is d/o Thomas, died 1717) links to the bradshaw family. Perhaps her mother was a Bradshaw, but no luck so far.
The young Perry children at the bottom of the stone were children of Ellen Bradshaw who married John Perry in 1757.

I would love to see a map of Liverpool from this date to find out about these houses.
Hope I don't lose this in the ether.
Thanks Lynne

Advice again please.
Searching for Elizabeth Perry, first mentioned on the St Peter's grave stone, with a long epitaph, but no date of death. I can only assume she was a female Bradshaw who married a Perry.
I do not have a record of such a person and cannot find one. As she is first on the stone, can I assume her death date would be the earliest??
Thanks

Don't have much time but just popping in to say "Weint" is common instead of Road or Street, although I haven't found a Haseltines.

Don't know if it will help but I'll email you a 1790 map, can't post it on here as it's a .pdf file.

"These houses were North of the dock, West of the dock, School Lane and Hastletines Wint"

I can't find any mention of that wient it may have been renamed. Presumably the dock references are to the vicinity of the Old Dock.

I am adding a new plea to this because it is the same family and I know Blue, Bertie and Mary are excellent at mysteries.
The Bradshaw family, Edmund born c 1755 in particular, married a widow ALICE JONES after his first wife (Mary Woods ) died in 1812. They married on 18 Nov 1812 at St Nicholas by Licence. I have a copy of the licence but this does not help with my current quest.
The only info I can find about Alice is from the 1841 census, because she died soon after this, (Oct 1841).HO/107/567 Book 10A Folio 29 page 11.

Alice Bradshaw mistranscribed as Mic Bradshaw, Ind, born in county. Address South Hill, Toxteth Park. I think it is Dingle. When she died she lived at 1 Dingle Lane and was buried at Walton on the Hill. She was living with her daughter and son in law. (John and Esther Mitchell)
I would like to know any info about her before she married Edmund. Do you think Jones was her maiden name? or the name of her first husband? How can I find her birth place / date / parents etc. Any ideas PLEASE you are so good at miracles. :)

I'm posting Alice's age at death in 1841, 64 years, as it might help and to break the silence. Many a seasoned genealogist runs for the hills at the mention of the name Jones so it could get very quiet on this thread

Jones should be her first husband's surname. As we don't know her maiden name or her first husband's first name Alice could be one of the many Alices who married a Jones in the 1790s to c1812. We don't know if they married in Liverpool or not so there could be possibles elsewhere. As Alice was born in Lancashire it's probable that the first marriage was in Lancashire.

Hopefully it will be her first husbands name and not her previous husbands name.

With little to go on, assume St Nicholas was Alice's church and parish, perhaps her previous marriage took place there. Look at the Jones/Alice marriages between 1790/1812, are there any male deaths from those marriages prior to her remarrying.
As they didn't seem to hang around, closer to 1812 the better.

Alternatively, join us in the hills

I haven't been able to view the 1812 marriage any clues in the names of the witnesses? Did Alice leave a will naming any Jones or non Bradshaw relations? Any Jones near her in 1841?

Blue,

One is Edward Coventry who appears to be a church official, the other I can't make out, hardly see it.

Alice Jones signed her own name.
