This is very much a long shot.
My late mother's sister Dorothy WRIGHT (1904-1979) was born at Chapel Brow Farm, Great Sankey, the daughter of Richard William WRIGHT and Gertrude ASHTON.
My mother told me that Dorothy used to sing on the radio and was always introduced as "Dorothy Wright, the girl with the golden voice".
In Oct/Nov/Dec 1939, Dorothy married Clifford Nathaniel HABERLIN.
I am not aware of any children.
Dorothy lived at 18 Park Road, Sankey until her death in 1979.
That is literally everything I know about her.

Re: Dorothy WRIGHT (1904-1979)
I'm wondering if they might have gone abroad/Scotland on honeymoon and not be in England when the 1939 Register was taken, even using exact dates of birth - supposing they are accurate from the death entries - didn't turn up any entries.
She is not at 18 Park Avenue, Warrington with her parents Richard W and Gertrude and daughter? Gertrude M (married names Bailey-Church and Houghton) suspect that's your mother, and also a Charles G Copus living there.

Re: Dorothy WRIGHT (1904-1979)
Hi MaryA,
Dorothy (and indeed Clifford) are both complete mysteries. I recall my mother saying about "Dorothy was always introduced as (see above)" inferring she was on the radio more than once, and one must assume that it was the BBC.
I have enquired at the BBC but never had a reply.
I also understand that the BBC broadcasted from a house in Penketh during the war.
In all the 1952-1959 phone books it is listed as "Mrs D Haberlin" (not Mr or Mrs "C" Haberlin) so perhaps they got divorced (or he died in the war) ?
As you rightly say, she is not living with her parents in September 1939 (the marriage to Clifford was Oct/Nov/Dec).
Gertrude May WRIGHT was indeed my mother (she married John Maurice HAUGHTON on 24 Dec 1941 and he was killed 3 weeks later).
I love a challenge but Dorothy and Clifford have got me stumped.

Re: Dorothy WRIGHT (1904-1979)
Probate entry for Richard William Wright of Oakleigh, 18 Park Road Great Sankey near Warrington died 31 May 1950 at Th General Hospital Warrington. Probate 7 October to Gertrude May Haughton and Dorothy Haberlin (wife of Clifford Haberlin). Effects £2301 8s 9d.
So it would seem she was still married to him in 1950, was Clifford perhaps living in the same house and for how long? You need to check Electoral Registers. And see who registered his death.
