Suggestions re resources for birth records

Hi Hilary, we have Charles' father James Shaw birth registered at Holy Family Church Ince Blundell 31/7/1791. From census and death records, their lives seemed centred around Ince Blundell.
Although James married Ann Coates (nee Bibby) at St Peter, Church St Liverpool on 21/2/1814.

We have checked records for Roman Catholic churches in central Liverpool, which cover the years Charles would have been born in, without success. So on our recent visit, we checked the RC church records for parishes around Ince Blundell, still without success.

Maybe the priest or the church clerk just forgot to write the baptism in the register.

I guess that's a possibility yes.
Can't find a birth record for Charles' sister Jane (b approx. 1820, died 3/11/1871 aged 51) either.
