Help identifying a burial ground

Post by Karen »

I have found a burial on Ancestry but am having trouble identifying where it is. It is in the 'England, Select Deaths and Burials, 1538-1991' database:

Name: Isaac French
Burial Date: 29 Jan 1843
Burial Place: Liverpool, Lancaster, England
Death Date: 24 Jan 1843
FHL Film Number: 1595423
Reference ID: it 6 #2685

No church/cemetery is given. I had a look on FamilySearch to see if it would give anything different but there was still no place listed, just the Batch number: B03072-4.

I have started to trawl through burial registers but am hoping that someone might know a quicker way of identifying the church/cemetery?

Found it. He was buried at Wesley Methodist Chapel's burial ground in Upper Stanhope Street Toxteth. There is a burial transcript on here:-

Thank you so much Blue! I'd have never in a million years thought of looking at that church so that's saved me a huge amount of time! I'm now off to peruse the rest of the records to see if any more of my missing burials are in there!

It's not the first time that familysearch has omitted such vital information, Ancestry has possibly acquired the records from them - doesn't help does it
