Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
Thomas Bradley/Nancy Bushell appear to have had a number of children, it also appears that Nancy also used the name Ann, The names Nancy and Ann being interchangeable.
A baptism, LDS,

Couldn't find a marriage for Thomas Bradley/Ann Bushell,.......Nancy?
There's a baptism for John Bradley, born 12 July, Bap, 8 August, 1802,

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
Wow, you folks are wonderful.
I know that my grandfather was not a twin, but not certain about my great grandfather.
This is what I know:
John Bradley (my grandfather) born: April 13, 1872
Father: John Bradley
Mother: Mary Alice (Smith) Bradley
Everton, County of Lancaster
@ 75 Beatrice Street (Everton)
Apparently, my Great Grandfather John Bradley is the descendant from Molly, as per the family chit chats, and then the info I had found online where she is mentioned in his wedding announcement although he was married in 1864, many years after her passing.
Bert - the info about John's father was also a "John Bradley" doesn't surprise me, but made me laugh a little. They couldn't change it up a bit with the first names? lol My mom always regretted naming my brother John after his father, who was also a John but went by his middle name Ashley, due to the mix-ups with government ids etc. Thank you for finding this info for me! He was a "Joiner" which is the same as his son (my Great Grandfather), very interesting.... Do you believe that Thomas Bradley / Nancy Bushell are the parents of the John who married Ann Jones? I recently found info that my grandfather had an older sister named Harriett Bushell Bradley. I wonder how Nancy Bushell is or may be related to Molly?
Thank you everyone for helping me dig.... I love investigating but hit a few walls.

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
Another thought: Considering that the marriage announcement for John to Mary Alice Smith indicated that he was the "great grandson" of Molly, that would mean that the "Nancy Bushell" would have to be Molly's daughter. Is that possible? Do we know who Molly's children were?
Also, he was listed as "Jnr" so that easily confirms that his father was also John. Bert, I believe you found the proper combination.
This could be the line:
Molly Bushell
^
Nancy Bushell m. Thomas Bradley
^
John Bradley m. Ann Jones (brother to another child named Thomas?)
^
John Bradley m. Mary Alice Smith
^
John Bradley (my grandfather)
My grandfather had a sister named "Alice Ann".

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
Hi, Stacey,
Nothing is conclusive, nor can it be dismissed, more digging needs to be done.
I don't know how many children Molly had, or their names.
Nancy born 1774 ish certainly falls within Molly's childbearing years, so a possibility.

Naming their child Harriet Bushell Bradley is interesting, is that the first connection to Bushell, apart from the newspaper announcement?

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
The announcement was the first connection I had found, and then I came across the naming of their child Harriet Bushell Bradley. I only have those two connections so far.
I realize that Molly seems to have also gone by 'Mary', is that correct?
I am hoping to locate an online family tree for my Bradley side, or Molly's descendants, which would show a bit more info on the children and the connections. I was hoping that with Molly's "fame" that there would be info regarding her family / children.
Thanks again!

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
I have also come across this info, which shows Thomas Bradley as a 'coach man' whereas your info indicates 'gardener'. Again, interesting....
Marriage: 30 Jun 1799 St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Thomas Bradley - Coach man, Liverpool
Nancy Bushell - Spinster, Liverpool

Married by Banns by: George Monk, Curate

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
Hi Stacey,
Molly was a pet name for Mary, so any official documentation could well have Mary upon it.
Yes, seen his occupation at the time of his marriage, 40 years on, a lot can happen and change.

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
I have also come across this... someone who has listed Molly's children, yet no "Nancy" unless she was born in 1775 and the poster has not located her considering he has the 1746 birth year for Molly / Mary, when others have 1736.
"I have just found my connection with Molly Bushell of Evertonand wonder if anyone else is researching her family tree.
Mary Johnson born 1746 Everton dau of John Johnson and Anne Cooper, married James Bushell 1761 St Thomas, Park Lane, Liverpool and they had 7 known children:
William c1763; Alice 1769; Mary 1772; Esther 1777; James 1781; Sarah 1788 and John birth unknown. All baptized Walton on the Hill.
Mary is said to have died 1818 Everton. James Bushell died 1796 bur Walton on the Hill 27 May 1796.
I am descended from their daughter Mary 1772 who married Edward Lapworth (marriage not found) Edward died 1828 Liverpool bur 11 Nov 1828 Walton on the Hill and Mary died 1837 Liverpool bur 18 Dec 1837 Walton on the Hill."

Re: Everton Toffee Molly Bushell or Coopers????
Nancy Bushell,
Baptised 27 Nov, 1774,
Walton on the Hill,
If the damaged area is missing, Daughter of James, then recorded exactly the same as some of the children above.

Good one Bert, slots in at exactly the right date. Perhaps the poster who found the other baptisms had only found transcripts, a good reason for other researchers not to take another's work as gospel without investigating themselves.
