I have a remarriage for Henry to Ann Lunt a year after Susana dies but in the 1851 census they have a son John aged 7...so don't know what to think......Henry is a mariner and says born in Wales in 1851 and born in Prussia in 1861!!

Being a mariner would explain his absences at sea.
What about this? ^^^

Jeff I just noticed I'd had a notification from Anc that you amended John Airey's name in the 1841 census. Did you decide this was your man?

BarbaraW Many thanks for you help. Yes, I posted the Anc. edit for John Aery to John Airey. When I first looked at 1841 Census document, I was surprised it had been transcribed as Aery and I am far from being good at transcribing old writing! Also, I think there is enough supporting evidence that the person is John Airey b. abt 1838, son of Henry & Susan Airey. However, what really prompted me to post the edit is that if you carry out a wide Anc. search for John Airey b. abt 1838 you will not find the 1841 Census.

By the way, I think that "Prussia" might be the enumerator's attempt at a Welsh place name?!

Blue70 Many thanks for the Toxteth Park Cemetery pointer, excellent records, most helpful.

I now have a draft Airey tree to work on. Thank you Mary and the band of Forum helpers. Your efforts on my behalf are most appreciated. I must admit that Hants Gen Soc have nothing like your Forum!

Glad to have been of help Jeff kind of paying it forward as I've had SO MUCH help on this forum myself. :D

I have a yearly sub to FMP and a monthly to Anc, I find if I can't find what I'm looking for in one then can usually (not always) find it in the other.

I've been told that even if you do an amendment on Anc they don't actually change the record just leave it as an alternative, so maybe that's why it doesn't come up in the search?
