Thanks , Mary, for posting this. A word of caution: these are excellent professional photographs of only a few of the hundreds of war memorials in the district. The Imperial War Museum has a listing of a national inventory which will produce a very long list and is not the easiest to search, and is some way out of date. For example, several memorials are still said to be held at the museum of the Liverpool Scottish at Edge Lane, but this closed a few years ago and the contents dispersed.

Boaler Street and Butler Street School Memorials are at present being stored by the War Memorial Officer for the Wirral. I have found a new home for them at a Community Centre in Boaler Street. I am in the process of making arrangements for them to be transferred back to be stored at the Centre.
