This was a remarkably successful search - it would be a pity not to solve the church mystery!
If it was Ireland, I'd be looking at the possibility of a double ceremony; a legally watertight one in one church followed by a 'blessing' in another. That sort of thing happens here with mixed-religion marriages. The fact that Isabella was a widow... The Anglicans tend to be more easy-going than the others... Just a thought...

Re: Church in Toxteth Park or Liverpool
I just wanted to show you all the latest message I have received from the Facebook Group, Village in the Valley, Carbon, Alberta, Canada - re: Charles Cave and his wife Isabella. It is so funny and I feel so lucky to have this snippet from their lives over 60 years ago. From Gil and Wilma, the couple that bought Charles Cave's Farm:-
Hello Ann, this so funny what's just happening for this morning I saw that Gil my husband was using a very old pie plate to set is wet brushes on, so I asked if he remembered that it had come from the Cave house? Of course he did not, but when we bought their land the buildings were still there and I had saved this and yes it's now years ago and her you are asking about them.
Charles brought his war bride to this farm which is 8 miles from the village of Carbon and 20 miles to the town of Drumheller. If he made any mistake in this it was he moved his Mum and Auntie into town leaving this city raised gal very isolated. But she got a far better house then most of these war brides did but more the. She could manage as it was two stories with a separate wash house. But Charle was use to looking after his Mum and Aunt and helped her with everything. The water on the farm made retched tea so it is told the he went down to a near by spring so he could make her great tea. What a lovely man he was, not so handsome but just plain lovely.
The other story is about a particular wash day! Charle needed to make a trip to town and she wished to do up the wash so he set it all up for her and first load going and he went off. When he returned several hours later he was horrified to see no wash on the line as he came up the lane; he hurried pulled up to the wash house only to find Belle crouched in the far corner where she had been almost since he left. You see the cow had come to the door of the wash house to keep her company but she was scared to death as milk came to the house back home yes but in bottles not on four legs with big brown eyes! It was said Charle didn't leave home without here again.
If you are ever over do look us up and we shall give a tour of this beautiful piece of out family farm.
Blessings Wilma

I think it's brilliant when somebody gives you a little memory that adds such local colour to your history. Well done!
