In addition to Find My Past now being included in subs, this morning it was available free as part of the library edition of FMP. Hopefully this is a permanent arrangement and not short term access.

I've been having a wonderful time looking for family members now I can see the 1939 register with my annual FMP subscription.

Apparently my grandfather got extra rations due to the nature of his work. Mind you it does throw up more questions but I'm enjoying myself.

Take a flashdrive to the library with you!!!

Unfortunately some users have found that access isn't granted to the special £1 offers, nor a pay month by month subscription - just in case anybody was going to subscribe for a month just for this.

Yes I took a flashdrive and collected the images I wanted. Over time I'll revisit these records and when more records are opened, update them.

I was offered FMP Worldwide for a £1, so I took it.

The 1939, I was allowed to open an Uncle, living in Morpeth Buildings, Birkenhead. Another Uncle living in Morpeth Buildings, I was redirected to unlock this household and expected to take out a subscription. No problem, I opened up the one I could and just scrolled along to find the other uncle.

Same happened, opened up my Grandparents in Wood St, Birkenhead, it wouldn't allow me to open an Aunt living in Brook St, next street along, redirected again. Fortunately, Brook St and Wood St are in the same batch, scrolled along again and found.

FMP have made a pigs ear of it.

Another forum member has commented to me that having a £1 subscription they were spending as much time on there as possible while she could access the images as she suspected FMP would soon realise their mistake - they did and closed them. Perhaps you were trying to access at just that moment :(

I received this email from them this morning,

"Who will you find next?

Your journey with the 1939 Register has only just begun. With over 41 million individual records to explore, the discoveries you can make are virtually endless. Carry on exploring today.

Search the 1939 Register

We'd love to know what you think

We’d be very grateful if you could fill in a short survey about your experience of the 1939 Register so far. The survey will take a few minues to complete and will help us to ensure we’re doing the best job possible to improve your experience"

Gladly, :x

Now where's my dictionary of gutter language.

I have FMP.com and have been searching 1939.....found my late mum with her dad at the right address (( as on her birth cert)) however she is listed as Hannah Taylor the surname is then crossed through and Jones overwritten also there's a red crossing at the side of her name...my dad was Jones as am I ...but they didn't marry until 1941 I have the cert ...so just wondering if anyone has come across something like this in their searches... :?:

Name of person – The 1939 Register can include different names for people at different points in their lives from 1939 to 1991. It was usually annotated when people married, divorced, were adopted or changed their name. You can enter any of their first names or last names in the First name or Last name field and the search engine will find them. You can also enter more than one name in these fields – for example, Smith Jones in the Last name will pull up people who were called Smith at one point and Jones at another.

I feel a bit hard done by. I paid an amount to FMP to view 1939 register and had used some of them. Since FMP has put it into the subscription, my credits have gone

I think I'd get in touch with them and ask for a refund of those not used.

Thanks Blue. When were the 1939 registers available by subscription. If it was more than 90 days ago, "doesn't time fly when you're having fun."

Who would that be, then.

Bert, at least we managed to access a few. On one of them, my great uncle's birth year was later amended to three years later (it was correct to begin with), which is odd.
