Susannah Carter, b c 1818, in or close around Birmingham, is my Great x 2 grandmother. She married my great x 2 grandfather , Samuel Harvey, in 1836 at St Peter's Harborne, Nr Birmingham. He was a comb maker? A witness at this marriage was an Elizabeth Carter, perhaps mother or sister/ sister in law. They then lived in Sun St Birmingham and Kings Norton before moving to Liverpool. 1841 and 1851 census. They moved to Liverpool between 1851 and 1854 when my great g. mother (Eliza Agnes) was born. I have all the children, some baptised at St Philip's Birmingham (7) and born Liverpool (3). I connected the families by getting a birth certificate for Samuel Cade Harvey b Birmingham,Dec 1843 and my G Grandmother Eliza b Liverpool Jan. 1854. They matched as the same parents .
Children most of whom were known by their second names.

Her first Husband Samuel Harvey died 1858 and she remarried 1866. She is on 1861 census at 102 tarlton St Everton.
A few areas of help please
1) Samuel Cade vanishes after 1851 census in Kings Norton. I can't find a death marriage or any thing. As I have his birth certificate I would like to trace him and where did "Cade" come from??
2) Baptisms of those born in Liverpool.
3) Any thing about Susannah b c 1818 before her marriage. I have her father as Samuel from her 2nd marriage to Abraham Webster July 1866 at St Peter's Everton. BUT could she have not known or forgotten her father's name and used her late husband or father in law's in stead?? I cannot find her birth or any siblings.
As usual your help is so gratefully appreciated.

Just bobbing in briefly without much time to do any research, just thought I would suggest that you might be better off looking for a baptism for Susannah in Birmingham, people with local resources might be able to help better than we, such as we hold for the Liverpool area. Have you tried a Midlands forum to see if they have suggestions?

Any suggestions as to a Birmingham forum as I don't know one. No one seems to have such resources as Lancashire. Lancs OPC and yourselves of course.

There are a lot of Birmingham baptisms, marriage, and burial records on Ancestry

I've looked at them and don't seem to be able to find a match, as she says her father is Samuel. If her father was Benjamin I would have plumped for that one. I am trying to join a Birmingham History site but it takes time. Do they have a family history group like you?

I think this could be Samuel Harvey's baptism it's on Ancestry

You could try the Warwickshire Forum on Roots Chat or even their a Forum called a Family a History Beginners.

There is a large Birmingham Family History but whether they have a forum like us I have no idea.

Looked again after Hilary's find and I still cannot find any baptisms for the Liverpool Children. Tried ancestry and Lancs OPC. and Family search/ Perhaps they were just not baptised as children.

Maybe the children were baptised in a non conformist church and therefor don't show on the Liverpool Cof E or RC baptisms.

I had a wonderful time in Switzerland, not much snow when I arrived but then it kept on snowing for a few night so I enjoyed some days of wall to wall blue sky, sunshine and bright white snow.

Just to update you on my progress over the week end. I have got no further with Susannah carter, so I will have to carry on. Her husband Samuel Harvey, however. I have found his baptism aged 4 along with his baby brother Henry in 1822 at St Philip's Birmingham.
After his marriage to Susannah and 11 children later (only 2 did not live to adulthood. That was good wasn't it )
He died in Liverpool in 1858.
His parents were Samuel and Elizabeth (Nicholls). They had 4 children b 1814 to 1821, but unfortunately Samuel died in 1822 , buried St Philip's Birmingham (At least 1 of his children died as infants and are buried there as well)
Elizabeth remarried within a couple of months to James Cade bachelor , who was a lot younger than her. (From 1851 census). They had 1 child Betsey Cade b 1826 died 1838. Elizabeth died 1864 in Birmingham and James remarried quickly in 1864 and died 1869 in Birmingham.

I can't find Elizabeth and James on 1841 census using Anc. If anyone else can that would be brilliant
