Hi, just to let you know that I have received the death certificate for Margarte TICKLE in 1846. It shows she was the widow of Joseph Tickle and aged 63 years. When Margaret Weigh (Whey) married Joseph Tickle she was a widow, Henry Weigh having died in 1816. Before that Margaret nee Atkinson had been married to Joseph Varley (my relative).
The only thing I don't understand , having married quickly after the death of Joseph Varley, why did she wait 17 years after the death of Henry Weigh before marrying Joseph Tickle??? Perhaps he left her with enough money. Any sleuths out there more info would be very useful. :D :D Thanks

Could it be that it was him who wasn't free to marry?

His other wife, Elizabeth Tickle, died Jan 28th 1833. They were Catholics. Margaret married him less than 2 months later (11 March). So perhaps you are correct/ Never thought about that. I assumed they only got together after Elizabeth died
I don't suppose you have any ideas about Joseph Varley b 1810 either in Kendal or Liverpool. and William Weight b 1814 Liverpool, as I can't find any further trace of them :?:

Thanks Mary. Were there directories in the 1820 to 40s. If so could someone look up Joseph Tickle and see where they lived. Thanks
