That'a what I wondered as the date seems to match, but I can't find mention in the newspapers of the name

Thank you so much xxx

Just had a look myself at Google found details of it being reported in a Sheffield newspaper as well.

This is the entry from 02 March 1936 - Sheffield Independent, no more information than the other one though, I'm surprised the Boatswain wasn't named.

First of all Mary thank you for news cutting..........is puzzling why they dont name Boatswain :x

Well they arrived.........and I am puzzled !!! See what you all think

Norah's first

She doesnt disappoint ..........she's a widow, forward planning or what
She.........or maybe they (nan and auntie norah) have moved to 127 Duke Street.
Her father appears to be stated as alive
The name Murraey is spelt differently from all other documents. At first thought it was a transcript error appear not !!

Now Mary's
1913 the year before Norah's marriage
Father deceased

Not sure what to make of it all

What a tangled web we (or rather our ancestors) weave!

As for the spelling, that handwriting is all the same, and done by somebody at the GRO. They may have just read the spelling once and continued it for the other occasions  Pity it wasn't a church marriage as we may have been able to check the writing in the Register.

Herman signed his name on the registration card, Murray. Correct spelling I would think.

According to the following link, the Charles Murray who died in 1936 aboard the Seven Seas Sound was a 27 yr old Irish man - so not the one we're after:
