missing 1841 census

Post by Rosezi »

Another brick wall! I am searching for the Kemp family on the 1841 census - no sign of the family. I have tried searching outside of Lancashire, but no luck so far.
Stephen Kemp born 1812 in Woodnesborough, Kent, occupation mariner
Roseann Kemp (nee Mcgraa) born 1815 Woolwich, Kent
Susannah Kemp born 1837 in Liverpool,
James Kemp born 1840 Liverpool,
Stephen Kemp born 1842
Thomas Kemp born 1847

Stephen married Roseanne Mcgraa in 1836 in St. Peter's C of E church in Liverpool, all of the children were baptised in the same church.

The Irish name 'McGrath' would have the same pronunciation; at least by some. I'd extend your search to include 'McGrath' as well.

I've looked at both Vauxhall Road and Freemasons Road where the family lived in both 1840 and 1842 in the hope that they were in one or the other addresses, but unsuccessfully. It could be that they are on a page which has badly deteriorated with age, sorry, no luck.
