Do you know the format/file type of that one?

Birmingham City Council has a page on the IGI. Towards the bottom, it says:

***
IGI CD-ROMs

The Archives and Heritage Service has the following IGI records on CD-Rom. Please ask at the enquiry desk:
•Vital Records Index British Isles
•Vital Records Index Western Europe
•Australian Vital Records Index
***

Does this imply that they will provide a CD in a currently supported format?

Sorry no it's a set produced by the Mormons. They believe that all the data on it is available on the Familysearch site, but I'm not so sure.

I would suspect not, but they may have kept a computer with an old OS to still use them, or it may be that they are just trying to offload stock that they have.

Received the "photocopy" of the burial entry for Bridget - forgot it would be in Latin!

Oh success, at least I hope so, they aren't all in Latin. If you can post a copy perhaps we can try to help.

For an image you need to follow the instructions in the link I gave. We can follow a link to a html page, as your second link is.

Well done and thank you.

I believe -
Died 29th December 1877 Bridget Powell of Bold. Age 34.
It looks like (sudden death)
Burial must be 1 January 1878
I'm assuming the last two parts are the Priest and possibly his assistant's names.
