Google Street View

Post by Blue70 »

I can imagine future researchers being frustrated at all the nameless blurred faces on Google Street View when looking at the neighbourhoods where their ancestors once lived. Is that him? It looks a bit like him? Back in April as I was walking along the road not far from where I live what came round the corner but the Google car! I watched it pass me and looked at it face on just in case it was filming.

I had forgotten all about seeing it and was looking at something on Google today when I remembered seeing the car and checked that location on Street View. There I was immortalised by Google I have become one of the many nameless blurred faced people except to family who will always have this snapshot in time. Google now allows access to various years so it will document the changes in our environment over the years.

You are famous!

I found the same when planning a route to a cousin's house in Yorkshire that I'd never visited before, zoomed in so I knew what I was looking for and there he was standing in the doorway.
