Hi,
Struggling to find the above person in the census up to 1871, so far I have 2 marriages for:
Alice Fenney full age on MC married James Chorley Sept 1864 Christ Church Eccleston St.Helens.
Witness Joseph Fenney & Sarah Chorley.
In 1871 same church Joseph Fenney & Sarah Chorley marry. Both full age.
On both MC Joseph & Alice state their father is James Fenney Farmer.
Cant find James Fenney Farmer with the above 2 children Alice & Joseph.
Not really looking for the Chorley family which I have.

So based on the 1851 census, HO107; Piece: 2194; Folio: 528; Page: 20 Sarah appears to have been born in Prescot, in about 1838 and James born Eccleston, about 1845.
Finding Sarah and Joseph on the 1871 census RG10; Piece: 3861; Folio: 155; Page: 27 gives us Joseph's birthplace as Sutton, Lancashire born about 1842.
Perhaps father has had a change of occupation

Rodger son U 14 Carter " "
Elizabeth daur 12 " "

Father does seem to have flitted from job to job as he was a Rail Lab. in 1851 HO107; Piece: 2195; Folio: 305; Page: 22 but interestingly living in Lea Green with what is presumably his mother and siblings living next door.
By 1871 RG10; Piece: 3867; Folio: 107; Page: 21 he is a Labourer on Highway, so perhaps he was farming at the time of the marriages but maybe in a short term job.
